Last week’s announcement that Zillow data is now integrated with ChatGPT sent a ripple of panic through the real estate community. “Is this it? Are agents officially on the path to extinction?”

As I see it? Not even close.

Technology like ChatGPT doesn’t eliminate the need for great agents, it simply shifts the game. Sure, consumers now have easier access to property details, pricing trends, and listings. But that doesn’t mean buying or selling a home suddenly became simple. Real estate transactions still need the human touch; expert guidance, negotiation skills, emotional intelligence, and the ability to solve real-world problems that algorithms can’t touch.

So, instead of worrying about being replaced, ask:

• How can I make my clients’ lives easier?

• What new problems can I solve that technology alone can’t?
