As 2025 winds down, I’m reminded of something I’ve observed year after year: top producers don’t wait for January to begin their year. They quietly build their momentum long before the rest of the industry “gets back to work.”
That reality hit home during a recent conversation with one of the most consistently high-performing agents I know—Stephanie Peck. Just days before Thanksgiving, she told me:
“I’m already in 2026 in my mind.”
Her comment wasn’t a motivational slogan. It was a window into how top-tier professionals think, plan, and act. What follows are a few of the most important principles from our discussion—ideas that can help any agent build a year with more clarity, confidence, and connection.
Stephanie already has appointments set for January and March. Not because she’s lucky, but because she understands that today’s conversations become tomorrow’s closings. Her holiday pie giveaway this year—141 pies to people she knows—sparked multiple “I’ve been meaning to call you…” moments.
The holiday season isn’t downtime. It’s an opportunity for warm, easy reconnection. And if you don’t stay visible, tech platforms are happy to insert themselves between you and your clients. A personal touch goes further than any algorithm.
One of Stephanie’s mottos is: “We are Costco.” She’s right. Costco doesn’t wait until fall to think about Christmas—they’re planning it at Easter.
In real estate, early planning creates both calm and impact. Instead of scrambling to put together a client event in December (and suffering through the stress that comes with it), she has these touchpoints mapped out months in advance. The work becomes lighter, and the results become bigger.
One of the most meaningful parts of our conversation was Stephanie sharing how she reviews every client she served—not just the numbers, but the stories. Why they moved. What emotional moment triggered the decision. What obstacles they faced.
Because that’s what matters.
People don’t relate to market stats; they relate to stories that sound like their own lives.
When she meets with other professionals—estate attorneys, financial planners, senior care specialists—she brings these stories into the conversation. Not to impress them, but to demonstrate understanding. To show she cares about the human side, not just the transaction.
This approach is part of what we teach in our Deep Dive work with agents: how to communicate in ways that actually resonate with people and create trust.
Planning an entire year can feel overwhelming. Stephanie shifted to a 12-week-year approach—detailed focus for a short, intense stretch, followed by reassessment. It mirrors how the market actually behaves: fast-moving, unpredictable, and human-driven.
With this rhythm, she’s always relevant. Always adjusting. Always clear on what matters right now.
It’s also the foundation of the Think Bigger operating system she and I helped develop—short, disciplined sprints with built-in accountability and space to reset.
If there’s one lesson I hope sticks with you, it’s this: top agents don’t wait for a new year to create a new year. They build it through early connection, strategic planning, thoughtful storytelling, and genuine value to the people around them.
